The other day I made Shark Fin Melon soup. No sharks were harmed in the preparation of this dish. The melon, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky... The melon was grown on our allotment.
Half a melon made more than enough soup for 4 people. I found it almost too sweet, although my girlfriend said she loved it (I'm not sure if she was just saying that so as not to hurt my feelings...).

I recently built a new website for my aikido club - Leeds Central Aikido.
Check it out at: http://www.leeds-central-aikido.org.uk
Of course it's still a work in progress, but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
Contact me and let me know what you think, or if you'd like to hire me to build your next site.

This is kind of an update to an earlier post with a similar name.
It appears that facebook has put a stop on RSS status feeds. They've always made it as awkward and difficult as possible, but now it looks like they have stopped it altogether. My status feed hasn't been updated since mid-march.
So, unless I can find another way to do it, it's bye-bye facebook...

You may have noticed that this site now displays my current Facebook Status.
I'm not a huge fan of social networking sites, but they do have their uses. I have an account on Twitter and Facebook and I'm too lazy to update multiple sites so I've set up Facebook to read my tweets, and added a Facebook Status module to this site. Now all I have to do is update Twitter and my message will appear in all three places. Pretty cool, huh?

We're not quite up to Tom & Barbara level yet. The only things we've had off the allotment so far are a few beetroot kindly donated by a neighbouring allotmenteer, and loads of blackberries, which are growing wild anyway. But yesterday we got our first, own-grown, crop!
